Fast-food nuggets have nothing on these delicious bites. The crispy almond coating will make this quick dish a favourite in no time. If you have kids who love fast food, surprise them with this healthy baked chicken nuggets recipe. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, homemade chicken nuggets are healthier and tastier at home!

Crispy Chicken Nuggets


  • 3 x 6 oz. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup oat bran
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1 tbsp. coarsely ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 cup coarsely ground almonds
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • Pinch garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg white, lightly beaten


Preheat oven to 400F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper.
Cut chicken into nugget-sized pieces, about 1.5 inches square. Set aside.
Next, make the coating mixture by combining all dry ingredients in a large container with a tightly fitting lid. Shake well.
Combine water and egg white in a medium bowl. Dip each piece of chicken in the water-egg white mixture. Then dip each piece in the coating mixture. Make sure each piece is well coated.
Place on the baking sheet.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden.
Serve with your favourite dipping sauce.
