On Tuesday, September 24, staff from World Health, Spa Lady and Bankers Hall Club presented Wellspring Calgary with a donation of $27,764.22, raised at their Charity Golf Tournament.
“World Health, Spa Lady and Bankers Hall Club are committed to making our community a great place to live and lead a healthy and active lifestyle regardless of the challenges life brings,” said Joel Price, Fitness Director, World Health. “We are proud to support Wellspring Calgary, which plays an integral role in healing the body, mind, and souls of individuals and families dealing with the effects of cancer.”
In July, golfers hit the links at Elbow Springs Golf Club in colourful fluorescents, embracing the tournament’s neon theme while raising funds through a round of golf, dinner reception, and both silent and live auctions.
The donation helps Wellspring Calgary to continue offering programs free of charge to its member and be a place for support. Wellspring Calgary’s vision is that no one has to face cancer alone.
“From the moment you walk through the door, there’s just an overwhelming feeling of knowing you’re safe, you’re not alone, you’re with people who totally get it,” said Wellspring Calgary member Janis Simmons. “Wellspring Calgary literally saved my life. I got more support in the brief time I was there than I had in my whole journey. I felt like I was home.”
